A further Hunter S Thompson reality check…

Yesterday in an idle musing I posted what was supposed to be a widely credited quote by the late Hunter S Thompson relating to the Music Industry. I wondered if anyone would (rightly) pull me up on it as the truth is…… the quote never existed at all and in fact in reality the nearest thing that came to it was a similar quote about the TV Industry made in 1985

For more information and perhaps a better and more cogent explanation follow this quote “Where Pimps Run Free” . The crazy thing is the quote might well have been written about the Music Industry but as with most things the retelling is often more entertaining than the actual fact in itself…

Feel free to comment, let me know what you think….

Was Hunter S Thompson right?

“The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There’s also a negative side.”

So says good ‘ol Hunter. Is he correct and if so why and how?

Any comments then feel free to shout out below and lets get the conversation started. In the meantime and in the ensuing pages, Podcasts and various other projects I hope to be able to shine a light perhaps on some of the issues that affect us all within the Music Industry today and into the future.
